In India, more than 80% transactions are under ₹500. These would include day-to-day payments like for cabs and groceries. Lite allows customers to make payments under ₹500 without having to enter their UPI PIN, making paying people blazing fast.
This was my first project as part of the Groww Pay team. We worked towards integrating Lite into all of our payment flows.

Onboarding
Lite works in a 'wallet' fashion. Customers need to add funds beforehand which they can then use to make Lite payments.
A very common user concern around 'wallets' is that money will be blocked on the app. We tried to convey that this wasn't the case very clearly during the onboarding.
Making a payment
Integrating everywhere
For all customers who had setup UPI Lite, we added it as the default whenever possible. It's the fastest way to pay and that is what we care about.
